March 18, 2021 by alanvega@costaricain.com

Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Tour takes you through the easy trails of the national park and visits the boiling mud, sulfur, and steam vents, fumaroles, and volcanic lagoons, and visit an amazing waterfall where you can swim and relax after the hike. Besides the volcanic activity, the national park has an amazing variety of wildlife.

Here it is possible to observe toucans, howlers, white-faced, and spider monkeys, coatimundis, over 300 hundred bird species. Ocelots, cougars, tapirs, and jaguars also live in the area but these ones are more difficult to observe.

After the hike we will take you to the Oropendola Waterfall, an amazing 25 meters fall with crystalline waters to swim in the natural pool formed. As well you can add a visit to the hot springs if you want it. The access to the main crater is close because of the activity of the gases and some eruptions.
